 <![CDATA[On 04/19/12 at 2358 Hrs., Lt. 49-14 transmitted a radio alarm for a working structure fire located at 100 Woodlawn Ave. in District 3.  The dwelling involved was a 1.5 story 30 x 60 single family and had fire throughout.  First due Eng. 34-101 arrived and an aggressive interior attack was initiated, however once crews started to advance through the front door, the floor became compromised and attack was switched to defensive.  Eng. 498 arrived on location, dropped a 5 inch feeder and crews from Eng 498, 34-109 &amp;amp; 492 placed an additional 3 handlines in service.  Eng 24-105 and Truck 34 crews opened up the structure from the outside and the bulk of the fire was knocked at the 30 minute mark.  Crews then entered and conducted a primary search as no occupants was present.  The primary turned up negative.  Crews contiued to operate from the exterior as the gas line for the hot water heated had burned away and a gas feed fire remained until the arrival of PSEG Gas who had to shut the service off a the street.  Once this was completed, final extinguishment, secondary searches and overhaul were completed.  All compaines were clear at the 3Hr 30Min. mark.Units on scene: Chief 34, Chief 49, Chief 24, Deputy 49, Deputy 24, Eng 34-101, 34-109, 498, 492, 24-105, 24-104,  Truck 34, Rescue 49, Chief 21, Deputy 21, 21 FAST and rescue 30.  <![CDATA[At 1301 hours Rescue Co. 49 was requested into Raritan Borough&nbsp;for a Reported&nbsp;Structure Fire. Chief and Rescue 49 responded with 7 Volunteers, upon arrival the crew set up on the Alpha side of the stucture as the RIT crew. Due to a quick knock down by Engine 52-102's crew, the fire was quickly extinguished and the Rescue returned to service after about 30mins on scene.

Chief 34 arrived and confirmed a fire&nbsp;along the woods and requested 21's Brush Truck. Engine 498 arrived and assisted 34-101 and 34-109's crew with containing the fire.  <![CDATA[At 0105 hours Rescue 49 was alerted into Tewksbury twp. for a Structure Fire. Rescue 49 responded with 7 Volunteers and was assigned R.I.T. duties apon arrival. Crews immediately began throwing ladders and opening&nbsp;up points of egress.&nbsp;After 3 hours assigned as R.I.T. the crew was reassigned to complete overhaul on division 2.The Rescue was on scene for approx 4 hours before being released by command....]]>

 	<title>Engine and Rescue Run House Fire</title>

 <![CDATA[Monday at 14:43 Hours, Rescue 49 was dispatched into Hunterdon County for a R.I.T. County Communications were reporting a dryer fire on Old State HWY 22 in the East Whitehouse Section of Hunterdon. Chief 49, Chabak, arrived as the crew from first due East Whitehouse Sqaud 31 was advancing a 1.75" line to Division 2, where they were met with heavy fire conditions.   Rescue 49 arrived with 5 volunteers who were immediately put to work advancing a 1.75" line from Whitehouse Engine 22  to Division 2. At this time, Command sounded the 2nd alarm and requested an additional Engine from 49 to the scene.Engine 108 arrived and relieved the initial crew from Squad 31,  pushing into the attic where the fire had extended. Units were soon evacuated when conditions quickly deteriorated as the fire gained considerable headway from the high winds. Once evacuated, crews from Readington and Whitehouse opened up and knocked down the bulk of the fire from the exterior.  An additonal crew from North Branch was able to regain entry and keep the fire in check in the attic while units opened up the interior. The final evacuation signal was given as conditions from the outside worsened, creating a possible roof collapse.Lebanon Ladder 18 set up on the A/D corner and crews used exterior lines to knock down the heavy fire from the outside.  Once this was accomplished, crew returned to the interior for final extinguishment.The fire went to a 3rd alarm, with numerous companies from Hunterdon, Somerset and Morris Counties either working the job or covering empty stations....]]>

 	<title>RT. 22 Rollover w/ Pin</title>

 <![CDATA[On 03/23/12 at about 1535 Hrs., Companies 34 and 49 were dispatched to Rt 22. W/B in the area of N. Adamsville Rd. for the reported rollover with unconfirmed pin.  Chief 34 arrived and confirmed he had a vehicle on it's roof into a pole with driver entrapped and injured passenger self extricated.  Crews from Squad 34-152 and RESCUE 49 went to work stabilizing the vehicle and forcing both doors of the vehicle and displacing the dashboard, allowing units from Somerset EMS to remove the patient.  Extrication was completed at about the 20 minute mark.  Both patients were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.  <![CDATA[At about 1030 Hrs., on 03/23/12, District 3 Companies were dispatched to CIntas located at 312 N&nbsp;Adamsville Rd. on a report of a truck fire.&nbsp; Chief 34 arrived and confirmed a working fire located in the enclosed storage area of a 26 ft. box truck.&nbsp; First due E34-109 picked up their own feeder line and the crew stretched a 1.75 line.&nbsp; The initial attack was through knockout ports located in the roof of the box truck using 2 - 1.75 lines.&nbsp; Once the fire was knocked down, entry was then gained through the rear doors of the truck to reach the deep seated fire.&nbsp; Crews on scene had to unload the approximate 6 tons of shredded paper from the truck to complete final extinguishment.&nbsp; Companies operated on location for about 2 hrs.Units on location: Chief 34, Eng 34-109, 34-101, Chief 49, Eng 498, 492, Eng 24-104, &nbsp;Martinsville EMS, Bridgewater Fire Inspector, Bridgewater PD....]]>

 <![CDATA[On 03/22/12, members of the North Branch Fire Co. attended a St. Baldricks event that was hosted by the Van Holten Elementary School and the Eisenhower Primary School of Bridgewater Township.&nbsp; During this event, Engine 498 was on display in the parking lot of the school for both the kids and their parents to view and members were on hand to explain about the Volunteer Fire Service.&nbsp; The officers and members of Station 49 would like to congradulate the Shavees, especially the students,, that raised money to support such a worthwhile cause! &nbsp;During the event,, Bridgewater PD also had unit on display for the public and officers on hand to answer questions....]]>

 <![CDATA[At 1322 Hrs.,&nbsp; 49 Fire was requested Mutual Aid into Bedminister for the farm tractor fire exending into a large field.&nbsp; Upon the arrival of Eng 498, the crew went to work attempting to cut off a rapidly extending widland fire that was being pushed by heavy winds. &nbsp;Eng. 492 arrived on location and started to knockdown fire that had already jumped a private road.&nbsp; E492 crew then advnaced and knocked down a large head fire that was heading towards a few structures located on the large farm.&nbsp; Both Engine Companies ended up deploying 400 ft 1.75 hoselines and assisted the NJ Forest&nbsp;Fire Service with cutting of the fire spread to the south.&nbsp; Resuce 49 and Utility 49 arrived on&nbsp;location and assited with manpower. The fire was placed under control by Chief 29 at about the 60 minute mark.&nbsp; Tewksbury Tender 24 provided water supply for E498 and East&nbsp;Whitehouse Tender 31 Supplied E492.. Tender Fill Site was established at the Raritan Valley&nbsp;College.
